Essential Items to Bring
We would like to provide the following list of essential items you should consider bringing for the Summer School:
Program
- Cash, check, or credit card for hotels, housing, and registration fee
Clothing
- Opening/closing ceremony of 6AESE/11ANCRiSST: formal / business attire
- Normal activities: comfortable attire for summer weather
- Laboratory (outdoor work): shoes (not sandals)
- Also, don't forget to bring:
- Umbrella / rain jacket.
- Summer rains are unpredictable.
- Light sweater / pullover.
- In some buildings the temperatures are low because of air conditioning.
- Swimsuit.
- Pools are available at hotels. Also, UIUC campus has a nice swimming pool, but you need to pay for three-week guest pass. For more information, visit the following link.
Electronic
- Personal computer (i.e. laptop) with Matlab and Simulink software (strongly required)
- Digital camera / smartphone for taking pictures and videos
- USB flash drives
- Ethernet cable for use in dormitory, wireless connection is available elsewhere

Daily Life
- Approximately $20 per day for food. Cash and credit card are accepted at most restaurants and shops.
