Chicago Hotel Information

8APSS students will stay the first two nights in Chicago. We will stay at the Holiday Inn Mart Plaza, located at the North River Side district of the city. We're within walking distance of the Loop, the main business district, and Michigan Avenue, aka the Magnificent Mile, where chic shops and restaurants abound. And you can ride a train or a bus to just about anywhere in the city, including attractions like Navy Pier and Millennium Park.

From Chicago O'Hare Airport (ORD) to Hotel

If you are planning to arrive to Chicago O'Hare (ORD) Airport, we would strongly recommend you to take the CTA Blue Line Train to Downtown Chicago. You can take the train directly from the airport. Then, the train will conveniently leave at walking distance to the hotel.

Instructions

From Terminal 5 (International), take the Airport Transit System (ATS) to Terminal 2.
Follow the CTA arrows to the Train Station, located at the lower level of Terminal 2 (see right figure).
Take the Blue Line train to the Loop. You can purchase the train fare with either cash or credit card. There are vending machines located outside the station.
Get off the train on Clark & Lake station.
Walk 800 meters (10 min) to the Holiday Inn Mart Plaza hotel.

Parking in Chicago

Self Parking is $35.00 per night with in-and-out privileges. Wolf Point Parking is located off the Holiday Inn Mart Plaza hotel front drive entrance. Garage clearance is 8.2ft.

Departure Information

From UIUC Campus to Chicago O'Hare Airport (ORD)

If you are planning your flight departure from Chicago O'Hare (ORD) Airport, we would strongly recommend you to make reservations for ground transportation with the following shuttle companies:

These companies have direct transportation from UIUC campus (ISR Building) to Chicago O'Hare Terminal 2 (Shuttle Center) and Terminal 5 (international flights). The round trip shuttle cost is around USD $55.

From UIUC Campus to Champaign Willard Airport (CMI)

Bus service to and from Willard Airport is provided by the Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District’s (MTD) 27/270 Air Bus route. The route operates Monday through Saturday approximately once per hour. The Air Bus stop at Willard Airport is an iStop and requires no fare. To get to the Willard airport, you should wait the bus on the Illini Union stop (north side).
