Overall Impression
"The program gave me the opportunity of working with real world problems in a multi-talented team with diverse background. It has also introduced me to some areas which I was conversant to, and made me interested to dig deeper in those areas. Some of these new concepts are beneficial in my current research."

International Setting
"The participation in the APSS 2009 has been one of the most rewarding decisions and experiences that I have helped me to move forward with my PhD studies and research for many reasons. One of them is the exposure to the latest technology involved with the structural health monitoring and control from their inventors and designers, but from a global perspective. In APSS 2009 I have met top researchers (both students and professors) from the entire world who not only appreciate the top notch program offered from the coordinators and leaders of this summer school, but also the environment obtained during these three weeks in which everyone gets to know the entire group attending to the workshop. This interaction between participants in day to day basis, allows and foster the technical exchange during the program. "

Lectures
"All lectures were absolutely wonderful and informative. It can be perceived that it took a great deal of time, effort and passion for the respective lecturer to prepare for and deliver a successful flowing of knowledge to the audience."

Labs
"They provided the participants a rich hand-on experience in smart structures with advanced multidisciplinary technology aspects."

Student Competition
"I was most challenged by the competitions and thought they did an excellent job of utilizing and reinforcing the lessons and techniques covered in the lectures and labs."

Non-Technical Aspects
"The program is not just about learning about engineering concepts it is about expanding your knowledge on cultures and making contacts for future work. Spend every second you can doing something in this program with people in the program from working on the dynamics project, to playing soccer games, or to going out to eat. This program gives you the opportunity to interact with such a diverse group of highly talented individuals that not a single second should be wasted. You can sleep when the program is over. Take advantage of the time you have there."
